lesson of the day.

I'm all over this warmer weather. Despite the fact that I have absolutely no destination for spring break, I've been shopping online as if I was getting resort ready. I'm not worried-tanning beds and drink umbrellas bring the tropics anywhere. For those more fortunate, here's a little trick for you to turn you're favorite scarf into a stylish top-definately lightens up the luggage load for vacation.

The scarf top
You'll need-
A square silk scarf (32'' by 32'') Echo and Cochni are my favorite brands
& Emilio Pucci has amazing prints if you can spring for them.
A pearl or chain necklace

Lay the scarf flat on a surface. Take the opposite corners of the scarf, and bring one to meet the other (you will now have a triangle.) Find the center of the necklace you chose, and take the two corners of the scarf, tying a tiny knot around the necklace (one end goes over the necklace, one goes under. If you chose a chain necklace, poke one end through the chain to tie to the other end rather than going around the entire chain.) The scarf should still be in the shape of a triangle, only tied to the center of the necklace now. Next, fasten the necklace around your neck. There should be two corners of the scarf dangling by your sides. You are going to take the two corners and bring them behind your back, tying them together right at the small of your back. Adjust the front so that the knot is not showing, and you may want to put some double sided tape along the sides of the front to ensure you don't have any untimely wardrobe malfunctions. Above is an example of the finished product, along with a blue leopard print Echo scarf I just ordered.
You owe me one.
